Project Background & Design Concept
A modern adaptation of Kurt Jooss’ renowned 1932 ballet The Green Table, a commentary on the hopelessness of war and the destruction it causes. In this new adaptation, we discussed the current turbulence between pop culture, news and media. Also, different from a traditional durational dance piece, it was an video installation activated by a single dancer. In the performance, audience were free to walk around and observe on both sides.
The video installation were composed with stacked boxes. We created five different modes of dance movements and projection designs. I weaved the topics together by making collages of YouTube videos and news with television static and noises, strobe lights, and pre-recorded videos of screaming dancers. I want to creating a chaotic and overwhelming effect that haunted the entire space.

Project Background & Design Concept
An short opening dance piece for CalArts Spring Dance Concert. Inspired by the idea of illusion, we played with fake shadows, projection on bodies and mirroring effects along with dancers' movements. We tired to trick audiences' eyes and created visual magic with simple techniques.
