Shelter is a series of photos, applying slide film, analog photography and darkroom technique to recompose the complexities of female's state in the modern society. The Slides photographs: Shadows of Flowers were first took by my mother in her early 20s in 70s. After 40 years, I reprojected them onto female's faces and bodies, a simple scene is unfolded with one with layers of metaphors. From 1970 to 2010, from negative to print, womanhood has been transformed and passed on in the images through generation, through labor, love and through our action and existence.
